India Bans All Pakistani Cargo
2025-05-07

Dear Valued Customer,

This message is to inform you that the Indian government has banned Pakistani cargo and ships from Indian ports, citing concerns about national security and public policy. This ban covers cargo either travelling through or terminating in India.

The ban is expected to cause delays and could cause some cargo to be turned away from Indian ports. Additionally, the ban will make it nearly impossible for carriers to make direct vessel calls to Karachi or Qasim for services also calling Indian ports. Carriers are currently working on contingency plans.

If you have questions or concerns about how this ban will affect your cargo, please contact your OEC Client Solutions representative.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

OEC Group
