U.S. Department of Commerce Issues Affirmative Preliminary Determination in Antidumping Investigation
2024-05-14

Dear Valued Customer,

The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued affirmative preliminary determinations on its antidumping investigation regarding aluminum extrusions from China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

The scope of the investigation is extensive and has already been revised since it began on Oct. 25, 2023. The Department of Commerce has also stated that further revisions, modifications and/or clarifications of that scope are possible. However, in the preliminary determination, the Department of Commerce determined that aluminum extrusions were sold at less-than-fair U.S. market value. In turn, antidumping duties went into effect May 7 at various rates depending on the extrusions’ country of origin.

As a result, we highly recommend that you reach out to your customs brokerage advisor to determine if the aluminum extrusions in your products fall within the scope of this investigation.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this antidumping case, reach out to your customs brokerage advisor.

Sincerely,

OEC Group
