Prevent Delays by Sourcing Products Strategically
2022-03-17

Dear Valued Customer,

This is a reminder that under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) you must thoroughly evaluate your supply chains to ensure that no Uyghur forced labor assisted in the manufacture, creation, harvest, etc. of any of your products.

Under the recently enacted law Customs and Border Protection will deny all imports of cargo manufactured or containing components manufactured in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR).

Therefore, we are recommending that all our clients consult with a brokerage expert to ensure their cargo is compliant with these federal customs laws as the penalties for non-compliance can be severe. These experts can help you understand the true origins of your supply chains and, if necessary, help find an alternative and compliant source to manufacture your goods.

Please contact your Customs Brokerage representative if you have any questions regarding this update or wish to learn more about how OEC can help.

Sincerely yours,

OEC Group
