UPS Drivers and Pilots Threaten Massive Nationwide Labor Strike
2023-07-02

Dear Valued Customer,

Due to failed contract negotiations, drivers for United Parcel Service (UPS) are threatening to strike on August 1, 2023 if an agreement is not reached soon. Pilots for UPS have also stated that they will support the drivers by staging a strike of their own, which would make these strikes the largest single-employer work stoppage in U.S. history.

If these strikes occur, we believe there will be severely negative impacts on the global supply chain, specifically regarding air freight and last-mile delivery.

Therefore, with only a month to plan, we are advising all clients to reach out to their advisors as soon as possible to discuss alternative strategies that will help ease the effects of potential strikes. In the meantime, we will continue to monitor this highly volatile situation, and we will inform you of any updates as they become available.

Sincerely yours,
