Prevent Delays by Sourcing Products Strategically
2023-03-01

Dear Valued Customer,

Under a new requirement in the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), Customs Border Control (CBP) will require the Postal Code of Chinese Manufacturers on all Customs Entries beginning March 18, 2023. As a result, we are advising all importers to request, beginning immediately, that their shippers include the full name and address (with postal code) of their manufacturers on commercial invoices.

Therefore, we are recommending that all our clients consult with a brokerage expert to ensure their cargo is compliant with these federal customs laws as the penalties for non-compliance can be severe. These experts can help you understand the true origins of your supply chains and, if necessary, help find an alternative and compliant solutions.

Please contact your Customs Brokerage representative if you have any questions regarding this update or wish to learn more about how OEC can help.

Sincerely yours,

OEC Group
