Unprecedented Container Loss this Year

Dear Valued Customer,

More containers have been lost overboard at sea over the last two months than the past five years combined.

Unfortunately, many clients have been negatively impacted and have often had to file General Average claims to help recover their costs. Months will pass before total damages are calculated and longer still for ensuing litigation to conclude. No financial losses can be reimbursed until that process is complete.

To combat this, we suggest that you consider taking the precautionary step of ensuring all your cargo is correctly insured. This will affirm your investment’s protection, and if your cargo is on a vessel that experiences damage, your general average contribution is fully covered. As an additional benefit, insurers will expedite any legal processes, eliminating prolonged uncertainty.

Please reach out to your OEC Logistics Consultant or the OEC Claims department to understand how this option can help give you peace of mind.

Sincerely yours,

OEC Group
